I had the same question, having just bought an '08 650f with squared off tyres so I need to buy a new pair. Thinking about PR4s but wondering if Metzeler Roadtec 01s are worth the extra?  Probably not, as my riding skills and mileage wouldn't justify it.  New to this forum and finding it v helpful.

Another vote for the PR4's, Came back 2 weeks ago from a 3000 mile trip around eastern Europe and nothing to complain about the tyres.

Had Michelin PR3s and 4s on my 650 and 1250. Both excellent tryes IMO, got 9k out of the rear. Great grip in the wet and did not square off a quickly as the stock Bridgestones. Just done 1500 miles on PR4s on my Ducati in northern Spain and Portugal and the tyres felt really good on fast sweepers and tight twisties.

Have recently fitted the new Maxxis Supermax ST tyres to my 1250 , bike feels very sure footed with these tyres on ,and cost less than half of some of the other tyres ,the reviews on them are correct.

The plug is under the left hand side panel, that panel that's just below the front seat that has one securing bolt toward the rear of the front seat.

Not sure how effective that would be, you can get bar riser kits quite cheaply from ebay, or possibly fit Renthal bars which come in various heights.  Sure someone will be along with a better answer soon..
