Did the Peak District yesterday. No 'fair weather only' bikers here!

Picture is top of Holme Moss just after lunch.

Will have to have a good study of the maps to come up with a good meet point or we will all end up converging on the LD seperatley instead of riding in together..Hopefully will meet up with Dave sometime before then at a meet or event to thrash out a plan  :occasion14:

There are some big-ass puddles to look at.

Looking at the map I could meet you at the legendary Cat and Fiddle for coffee and Pint of Chips (best chunky chips served in a pint glass).. 8)

It's been a while Martin, bloody weather's scuppered the last 2 rides :cussing: I think we'd need 2 meet points mate, one for those converging from the South, say near to Birmingham, and another for the guys in the North. We could even make a detour to take in a bit of the Peak district, meet up with Jacko then go find MLC at Warrington.

Discuss

I'll fit in with whatever you guys think best, you don't wanna spend the whole day making meet points and leave no time for an evening ride.. :)

What he said! - I'm happy to meet up anywhere along the route, just didn't want to ride too far south then back up north!- wouldnt have thought you'd be wanting to take too many detours on first day, shortest route from Bristol to Windermere is about 240 miles.
Anyway leave pass authorised - good to go  weather booked: :icon_sunny: :icon_sunny:

At 240 miles im not on for any detours..thats far enough for me and it will be Motorway all the way so a bit of a drag really looking to get there ASAP.
Might pay for Dave to take the M40 across country and hop onto the M5 then meet me at Frankley Services  :dontknow:

Had a quick fiddle with mileage looks like this would be a night out for me as there and back would be near 600miles plus any twisties in the mix and I would be close to 700 miles I have always wanted to do the lake district so would take my camera and spend a couple of days there

If you southern boys work out a fast prefered route and post it up i'll just pick a point along it so i'm not heading across or south to head back up, like MLC said.. Nice and easy, over to you..

For me its M5 Junction 15 then all the way on up the tube to Junction 36 M6..
Then the A590 and round to the A5074 into the Lake District.
Now just have to find suitable campsite with adjacent pub.
Are we gonna set up camp at the same place fior the 2 nights ? or do people want to move on ?  :dontknow:
Might pay to just have a base camp and use it as a springboard to tour the region and return on an evening to hearty scoff and cider  :occasion14:

Maybe a good option..central to the LD and all the juicy bits..plus the bonus of a pub just down the road.
i would imagine we will have to book  :icon_salut:

An Idea for a Sunday Rideout once we have had a good breakfast.
Takes in 5 lakes and The Honnister & the Hardknott Pass.
Plenty of stops along the route and back to the Campsite & Pub for evening scoff and beers  :occasion14:

Yes    ... count me in
It's home brew cider that I've been warned about  :occasion14:  :bot:  :laughing7:

I might either head upto the Lakes a few days before ... or stay for a few days longer after the weekend.   :dontknow:

I've got relatives who live in York and also in Stoke so it would be rude not to pop in a see them having travelled the distance

How many nights out are we thinking of ? ..2-3..we could do a couple of days in the Lakes then a day across the Yorkshire Dales and Moors..a kind of Coast to Coast on Two wheels  :laughing7: :laughing7:

I could have done the Sunday night too, like I said if we were doing this ^ and changed to the Yorkshire Dales on Sunday.. :) Slog back from the Lakes to get back for work at 3pm might be a bit much , Dales closer :icon_thumright:

If not then will pack tent and still spend the day riding round with you guys but head home after on Sunday night.. :azn:
