Yeah, i'm in.. Saturday and Sunday nights.. If you like Mart I can just send you a bank transfer for the cost of booking before you make it..

Just been playing with your Sunday route Mart  :headbang: http://g.co/maps/bz925 It's your baby though, just trying to get more miles in, after all, we start and finish in the Lakes and we have all day, live to ride.. It's only 5.5 hours riding on my extended route..

Also, maybe consider doing the route in reverse, getting Hardknott Pass in first, it's one tricky road and perhaps best done fresh and not at the end of a days riding.. Just suggestions mate, nothing is far from anything else up there..

Or, how about getting the Kielder Forest in too? http://g.co/maps/4wuzz :headbang: :headbang:

Your first option looks best Andy..not sure i want to put in 290 miles on the second day in mate..you must have balls of steel..
Did 300 miles in one day last year when me and the missus did a tour of wales..that was long enough for me  :laughing7:

Yeah, some of those roads are a bit nadgery. My longest day in the saddle last year was a trip to Brighton via Boxhill getting the M40 EU protest ride in, it was 492 miles, some of which was on a mates '59 Fireblade as he wanted an hour on the GSXF.. 350-400 mile jaunts to the Lakes or Wales for the day can be common in the summer, the GSXF is more comfortable over distance but I take the zx6r on some of those, GSXF is too heavy to have any fun on some of the roads in North Wales..

So, 290 is getting on for a leisurely day if it's mostly A roads, which the Lakes tour isn't, so fair play mate..  8)

Update
It appears that we do not need to book ahead at The Wasdale Head Inn campsite.
Apparently there is plenty of room as long as it is not a bank Holiday Weekend.
Im sceptical about this so i have emailed the pubs owners to confirm this and if we can in fact book places.
I have also asked if we need to book tables for evening nosh in case the place gets overwhelmed with walkers, climbers & Hikers  :icon_salut:

If everywhere's rammed and we can't pitch then we'll just ride over the border, wild camping is perfectly legal in Scotland..

The beauty of being a solo motorcyclist is they can normally fit you in even if they're turning cars away.. Not sure about six of us though.. :sad5:

Simms you could always say to the missus that if you do go for the BMW you need to give the fixer a decent send off and this will be it  :laughing7:

No email back as yet so i will phone the pub when i get into work tomorrow,
I cant see there being a problem as there is anonter campsite just down the road.
Its just that this one would be ideal..its cheap and right on the doorstep of the pub  :occasion14:

OK..i have given the pub a call and had a chat with a very nice lady who probably runs it..
The score is..you do not need to book a pitch..its first come first served basis..i asked if they get busy and they said that both Bank Holidays past have been fine and theres always plenty of room..i guess we just take our chances..there is enough room on the field for in excess of 30 tents so i think we will be ok..
As for breakfast..on Saturday and Sunday mornings they do a campers breakfast bar where they do tea & bacon butties ect..not to sure if it amounts to a full English on the go so i may take my own breakfast nosh..
Plenty of nosh to be had at the Pub on an afternoon and evening so no problems there..all in all it sounds a pretty easy going and friendly place  :icon_salut:
All we do is roll in and book in for the campsite at the bar..now i like the sound of that  :occasion14:
