Bike not running properly
« on: December 06, 2009, 10:50:21 PM »
Hello everyone, went for a ride Saturday on the A55.  I was cruising along at say 80mph and my 650 f started to pull back and then gain speed again.  It did this for about two minutes and then somehow cleared itself and ran smoothly again.  My gut feeling tells me it might be the regulator rectfier playing up.  Any sugestions would be most appreciated and would this problem be covered under warranty?

Thanks.

Was it raining? Could have been damp causing a misfire. Good rub round plugs with a dry cloth and some WD40. Assuming you had plenty of fuel in the bike so it wasnt just running out.

no misfire and no rain that day...it happened again today, the bike pulled back a few times whilst throttle was kept tight with no movement.

thanks for your thoughts anyway

Maybe a problem with the fuel injection system??
Has the FI warning light come on when the problem appears??

Alternatively could be one pot causing the problem which smacks of a duff plug.

Bike gone to hospital today as the fluctuation of power on constant throttle had gone worse.

They've given me an old Fazer as a courtesy bike ( happy days!)
