Having trouble refitting rear wheel
« on: March 03, 2017, 06:47:18 PM »
When I need to remove the rear wheel I always have trouble refitting the wheel on my gsx650f abs model.
I carefully push the brake pads apart but struggle to get the disk between the pads and get the abs sensor in position.
I have resorted to undoing the fixings on the rear calliper and removing the pads.

Anyone got the same problem or am I missing a trick.
Cheers

I have no ABS... but the bandit of my wife has, so I know this problem.
Both our bikes have a centerstand, that's a big plus.
first I push back the rear piston, to have some room to wiggle. and remove the ABS sensor.
the Axle  goes in from the brakeside to the chainside, so the bracket with caliper is somewhat in place.
Get a nylon hammer, and tap the axle, when positioning the rear wheel.
the axle goes through the first bearing, now place the spacer on the chainside, tilt the wheel upright, and tap the axle some more.
find the last hole, in the swingarm, and chain ajuster, and your done.
Somewhere you have to put the chain over the rear sprocket,  I do this just before placing the spacer.
