Long commute
« on: May 20, 2017, 11:23:00 AM »
Hi all,

Brand new to motorcycles and forums, so bear with me....I have recently been bit by the bug to ride a motorbike at the age of 44. Other than riding a few scramblers as a young'un, I have just completed my CBT/Theory test. I have my DA lessons lined up for next month. I have also purchased a 2016 GSX650FA (new) in readiness of passing (fingers crossed) I will be using the bike as a commuter, riding up to 100 miles a day. My question is, I know cars can do 100,000 miles plus in a life time of commuting quite well (dependent on vehicle) however, as I'm new to the world of motorbikes, will the GSXF stand up to this daily distance???

I had my GSX650F 2008  for 8,5  years,  did a 126900km without big issues and normal maintenance.
Now  it's parked in my garage for my son.
Just fill it up and start the engine

It's a good startersbike, quite heavy, but you'll get used to that.

Go for the centerstand (optional)

paddockstand = nice @ home

Mostly I use the centerstand when I'm away from home...
uneven terrain, or with strong wind, it's more stabel than jiffy
